It's expensive, but the 4 seasons has a great one. The travel lodge Silom has a good one at a cheaper price too.

4 Seasons. Westin is, well, average....my opinion, others will disagree. For a change, why not try out Crepes & Co. on soi 12. The owner is very nice and welcoming, service is ok, the garden is nice and the food not bad. Only problem is parking...a *****. A very popular place.

I agree with Stu that the Westin Grande Sukhumvit is excellent, and not the most expensive. I've heard that the buffet at the Sukkhothai Hotel is superb, and also the JW Marriott is hard to beat, although overpriced in my opinion.

Night and Day on soi 4 (Hillary bar)......not sure if the food is great but good beer and atmosphere.. lol

thanks to everyone for your suggestions. will check them out and see what my friend would like - hotel environment or something more relaxing.
