I have read that the Oriental has been the best hotel in BKK for a long time. Is this still true? What are, in your opinion, the top 5 hotels in BKK?

The Peninsula, The Intercontinental, Shangri La, Sheriton Grande and the Oriental are all top 5 star hotels. I think The Oreintal will always be in the top 5 because its a very nice place.

I really like some of the the boutique hotels that are springing up around BKK and some of these deserve a mention they are also a top alternative to the big multi room hotels. The Metropolitan and Davis Hotel's come to mind.

The Oriental is a little more thatn just the top hotel of Bangkok.

The Shangri La is a bit crappy.

You know? I have been in bkk since i was born i never been to Oriental hotel but One of my friend just showed me last week and all i said is...Its unique ok..three words. I love it

I never see the room but think Oriental must be very good one.. I only been there for breakfast. Shangri-la might be another good one as my Big Boss always stay there..

Other place I went cannot be classed as the best one but just 4 stars one like Nai Lert, Sofitel... but good enough tho'
