Well, as they said on the BBC about China, that's a bit like the pot calling the kettle black.

When China did it, they just did it and announced they had done it without having alerted anyone beforehand, making it seem a bit secretive.

The US announced beforehand that they would do this, and have been relatively transparent about it, as far as I can see.

actually, my understanding is that it did---but that the debris will burn up in the atmosphere. the satellite had unilaterally decided to return to earth; the navy unilaterally decided it would return on the installment plan.

the satellite cost was in the billion $ category...............it's good that they hit it, otherwise.........2nd and 3rd missiles would have cost another 10 million a piece......

now all we have to worry about is the remaining debris which can hit hawaii? lol
