Yesterday, I walked along the Thames and visited the London Eye. 135 metres in diameter, it sits on the south bank of the River Thames, next to the building that houses the London Aquarium. There are 32 capsules that can carry around 800 passengers. One revolution lasts about 30 mins.I paid my £15 fare, and took a ride :The London EyeThere are several sculptures (not originals) by various artists, including Salvador Dali, alongside the wheel:DSC_0029.jpgLondon Eye CapsuleThe capsules rotate as the wheel turns, so you are always standing up :-)DSC_0100.jpgThis view is looking towards Westminster Bridge. The red coluored building is the Houses of Parliament and the clocktower that houses the famous Big Ben.Houses of ParliamentDSC_0152.jpgDSC_0159.jpgAfterwards, I walkes across Westinster Bridge, and took some shots from the opposite side of the river.DSC_0175.jpgThe words projected on the building, " Re-build the Skylon Tower" are referring to a famous landmark that was demolished on this site in the 1950'sDSC_0178.jpg
