Miss California USA, Carrie Prejean, lost the Miss USA 2009 tiara to Miss North Carolina USA after her unfortunate response to a question about same sex marriage.
 
She may have won the crowd, but not the crown. If one want to win a beauty pageant, or any contest/ competition if that matters, you should give the answer which pleasing the judges or tell them what they want to hear. They are ones who give the crown to the winner, not the audiences. (and you could imagine demographic of the judges.) Free speech, yes, but If you want to make a political statement, you might as well want to become a politician or an activist, not a beauty queen. She obviously did not give an answer true to the question which Parez Hilton has asked. He asked as if other states should follow legalized same sex marriage as in state of Vermont, he did not ask what's the definition of marriage. "What she said up there was not just conservative, it was bigotry. It would be the equivalent to a beauty queen in the 1950s saying she thinks marriages should only be between people of the same colour. Several decades later, how does that sound?." To win a beauty pageant, you mainly just need to be pretty and *get through* the question section. If you really are smart and/or well educated, here's may be your chance to prove it! If not, all you need to do is wish peace, harmony, unicorns and glitter for everyone all around the world...

I think spending any time talking with women this thick would be torture. Maybe bush should have used them at Guantanamo instead of angled water torture.
