The National Organization for Marriage (NOM - ¹Ã) is a nonprofit organization with a mission to protect marriage.

MSNBC's Hardball Holds Gay Marriage Debate with HRC's Joe Solmonese and Maggie Gallagher on N.O.M.

The Colbert Coalition's Anti-Gay Marriage Ad

NOM's unintentionally hilarious "Gathering Storm" video. I live in Thailand where is said to be one of the most free and open LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexuals Transgendered) societies in the world, there are no laws against LGBT communities in this country, although there are some Buddhist laws that prohibit openly gay men to entering monk-hood, the monks do not preach against homosexuality, and it is imaginable which monks/priests would be performing religious wedding ceremony for same sex couples. However, the same-sex marriages, civil unions, domestic partnerships are none-existence, nor recognized in this country, may be not in my life time. Looking at the work of Thai government, i've lost faith. It's not only about partnerships though... If someone were to marry someone as same in gender, and they build their long life together, and one partner die, cousins of deceased partner can come and take everything away, including the adopting children, imagine your child being grabbed away, that's the law. Civil union does not allow for one to die and the same sex partner to automatically take after. If the country were to allow same sex partners the same right as married people this would not be an issue. Thai is one of the culture that is conservative but open-minded, we enjoy and laugh by gay humors, entertainers on TV and in theaters, we love wearing designer clothes, great hair styles created by flaming homos,  Warhal's paintings on the wall, even your own wedding planners and make up artist on your wedding day are gay..... but two consensual adults, regardless of whatever genders, are prohitbited from making a lawful committed monogamous relationships. Is Love reserved for heterosexual couples? LGBT communities do not try to eliminate the right of opposite sex couple to marry, why should the eleminate LGBT's just for they can end up “heaven” and the gays go to hell. While married opposit sex couples are opting out of marriage since the divorce rates are sky rocketing, who exactly really are destroying marriage? It's frustrating... we are living in hypocritical societies, yet we can't treat people with the same right and practice equality for all.

Sure we are open-minded about many things as long as it does not has to do with us or our family. While I agree with you, I don' think the issue of LGBT marriage is on top of Thai government agenda right now and it will never be, as long as there is a political stalemate going on

excellent points, well argued.

its a shame so many people in the world are so closed minded about the real nature of love, commitment, and relationships. sex has nothing to do with it.

sex and relationships between adults should be sex and relationships between two adults.

The Gov't....ALL Gov'ts should stay out of it.

Both sides of this debate should let it go and stay out of each others business but especially Religious Fundamentalists.

hate to agree with JD, but I do. It doesn't matter what genders you are, if you are in love and in a committed relationship, you should have the choice of formalising that relationship and having the rights of a partner under law!!!
