I like Iain_D's comment... good one!

I guess he cannot really fly in and out the big countries anymore, due to his new passport, visa process (don't think nicaragua has that much priviledge to enter first world countries) and maybe his financial status. Those West african countries are sure not well developed, that's why they never learn from an example in Thailand that no one ever get richer from those schemes Thaksin came up with, except himself.
