without sounding pedantic, GK (as if!!) the correct term should be anime as Manga is a company rather than thte comic book form itself. Great link though!!!

the japanese affectionately call their comics anime. the outside world, particularly the west have deemed the term Manga refering to comics originally published in japan. I must admit it has become a blur between the two names though. If you mention either people will know what you are refering too.

definitely GK - even wiki lists as such, but the term Manga came into usage as a result of the name of the company responsible for most of the importing to the English speaking world so we are both right (I liek when debates end like that) : )

I had just called it Anime or Manga never knew about the Manga company. cool I guess it became an alternate term used opposed to comic books being called sequential art. theres no way I would call a comic book that. I wonder what the word Manga really means in Japanese?
