I was just checking out my visa stuff the other day and realized that nearly a year ago I arrived in Bangkok.  May 14th to be exact.  

So, what better reason to get together with friends and chow down on the best Mexican food in Bangkok?  

Friday, May 14 we'll be down at Charlie Brown's for some good, old fashioned TF'ing.  Shall we say 8'ish?

Okay, you go up Soi 11 to where Cheap Charlie's is.  You can't miss it because there will be a lot of farangs (and a few Thais) getting drunk in what looks like an outside bar.  Go down that little sub-soi and it's sandwiched between a massage place and a tapas bar.

The 500 baht Fajita buffet on May 5 kind of turned me off to charlie browns. Bland mixture of food for a lot of money. Damn that Rob for tempting me with his plate of food while I waited for my original order. 555

The menu itself has fajitas for 395 baht, which has several of them (at least 3 or 4) as I recall. I was only able to stuff myself with 4 from the buffet, and I don't think they were the same quality as a direct menu order.

Call it buyers remorse, or call it a bad menu item, my mood toward CB's has been soured for the time being. I had long had a positive attitude towards the place, but not at the moment.

Not that this makes English Bob any less of a good host. Just a menu issue. Maybe next time for me.

so, i am thinking about giving once more chance for CB to make things better on 15th. cheerio

i went there once and order that famous drink. yes, the taste was yummy but next day my knee was swelling like it was pump in with loads of water.... if i can make it to the event... i would love to order margarita with lots of salt.
