Here's the follow up to Wedding Pics Part I. Sorry for taking so long but getting all of this uploaded, etc while traveling and recovering from jet lag has proved to be challenging :-)
Thanks to everyone who was able to attend and a special thanks to English_Bob for making the toast. Ked and I really appreciate everyone's friendship and well wishes and wanted to let you guys know how much it meant to us that you could share the evening with us.
Here's Part I of the wedding photos. This is from the actual ceremony up in Phetchabun and I'll be posting the photos from the reception as soon as they all get uploaded (which might take awhile so maybe after I get back to LA).
About a week ago I came home late one night and there was a gecko hanging out on my wall. A small fry, really. Probably still a baby. But nevertheless there he was paralyzed thinking I might not notice a 2 inch thing standing out against a bright, white wall.
He's not dumb though. As soon as he figured out I was staring directly at him he scampered behind a picture hanging on the wall.
Busted.
I snapped this shot of him (or her . . . who knows?).
Back home I think I would have

Those are steps leading up to a temple at the top of a hill. Yeah, it's a trek!

One of the things about being Admin is that every time someone gets banned or this or that happens I always get a PM or two from someone I don't even remotely know asking if I would share intimate details of what happened with them.
This happens even when well-known members are involved and I post that we are not going to air dirty laundry. A decision was made, this is what it is, and everything else is between the people involved. Yet, I still get PM's asking me to let them in on what happ
It's been cold but not snowing cold. But apparently it did get cold enough to snow in Chaing Rai back in 1955.
I think people who view weather anomalies as a sign of something bigger (I heard some banter about the recent cold weather being because of the radiation leak from Japan) should always take into account the long-view of history. :-)
Ked, Bua, Chris, and I went over to the Bangkok International Food Fair 2011 in Bejasiri Park the other day. It runs through tonight if anyone wants to catch the last evening of yummy treats.
Obviously, the world has better things to worry about than my internet connection but I was curious as to whether or not there was any connection between the fact that I couldn't reach the ThailandFriends server and my own other server (as well as many other websites) all last night and this morning.
Sometime last evening the DNS for both servers quit resolving.
I figured it might just be a temporary issue and went to bed. In the morning it was still down. I tried accessing the site fro
Undeniably, Thailand attracts some real characters. However there do seem to be some "types" that are more common than others.
1. The Bitter Guy: If you've ever read the message boards over at ThaiVisa you know the type. He hates everything about Thailand and Thai people (though he may be married to a Thai and have half-Thai children). He is unable to carry on a conversation for more than 5 minutes without somehow finding a way to start talking about "those fucking Thais."
Chances are
Come on people, we can't keep expecting Ciaran, StevieJR, and your local motorcycle taxi drivers to keep pumping up Thailand's numbers. Do your part. Go have a drink.
Well, it's not really that well kept of a secret but I thought I would make sure that that specific people knew first.
Uhm . . . I got engaged.
Two weeks ago on a river cruise I asked Ked to marry me. Fortunately, for me, she said yes.
Those of you who have been to TF events over the last year or so have probably met Ked. She's not really online much so she doesn't really hang out on TF. That's why a lot of you may have not run into her yet. She does have a TF account so she can swa
Before anyone says anything because my last blog post was also about a bizarre wording on a corporate sign, my girlfriend snapped this photo because she thought it was funny.
I know they meant that the restaurant was on the highway but highway steak sounds like you've gotten the meat from the highway which means it's roadkill.
