12th August,Thai mother's day. Formerly, Mother's day in Thailand used to be on April 15 (2 days after Songkran festival).the government has changed the mother's day to be on 12th August since 1976.12th August is  the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Regent Sirikit. 

   Jasmin or Mali(in thai),white flower is traditionally a flower that we give to mother on this day as it represent of pure love just like her love for us.   Her Majesty Queen Regent Sirikit  (Queen Sirikit)  was born on 12th August  1932. the Queen  of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand(The present king).
