Smell of Home

It was a sunny day today as well as a Tuesday. The day that the Asian store in town got a delivery of many fresh vegetable (as fresh as it can be) from the other side of the world. So my bf drove to town and to see if we could get any vegetable from Thailand. The one vegetable that we don't find often over here is holy basil leaves. But surprisingly there was one pack available in the store today. As I was picking the leaves to prepare for the cooking, the smell of the leaves reminded me so much of Thai food, and Thailand. It might be the first time ever since I arrived that I felt so close to home.

I like these journals you put up here...We hear all the time about people moving to Thailand and how they adapt. But its not so often to get a Thais perspective coming here and coping/adapting.

Great Journal so far. :)

Danno -- We couldn't even keep Cilantro alive here, esp. at this time, I doubt holy basil will survive.

Teddy -- By the time, I adapt more with the life here, I'll be packing my bag back to Thailand already!

Thanks for reading, while I'm still here to experience and write about it. :-P

Danno -- The house I am in is warm though. The sun hardly shines here and it's now about 9 - 11 degree. Not ideal but cold weather isn't that bad. ^_^

Fedor -- interesting word. I looked it up and its a really cool word that I experience often. For some reason I think this Proustian memory is mostly reminded by smell, or at least from personal experience. What about u?

Absentee -- I bought tons of Ma Ma with.... bored of them now though. :-(

PTudtu -- Thanks ka... I hope u have a great time in BKK too na ka. ^_^

Off to do more research on places to visit in London now! Thanks for all ur comments.
