hahahaaaa....well i guess you would know DC....Is that why your leaving??

The man that pissed me off was order a PINT yes I said a PINT (recieving a half pint) and vodka + lemonade for $23. WTF!!! Thats expensive even by Londons standards.

I had a expensive but great time there.

I left cause all the crazy, dirty, and fun things that made NY my home have been replaced by posh, luxury and mundane. I just didnt wanna be that guy that always complains how great everything was 10 years ago. I'm just happy that I was in NY in the transformative peroid between the really ghetto and the really opulent.

$23???... wow its like going to Bangkok and paying 300 baht for a tuk tuk or 1000 for the airport ride. You probably went to some fancy bar in Manhattan upper west. That's ridiculous.

Next time you go (if I'm here) I'll take you to Brooklyn for some cheap drinks and crazy times.

Yea, it was some poncy bar about 21 floors up, bouncers were true pricks, if you go out onto the roof you can see the Empire State Building. The view was cool, but not worth the hassle.

But yea, Id probably have more chance of catching you in BKK (as Im going there in Jan) than New York ...But yea I may take you up on the offer.

I live in Ny and 23 for a drink not unheard of especially the meatpacking district....which is no longer a meat packing business district it's all clubs and lounges for yuppies. I grew up in Tampa, Florida and we have an area called Ybor and it was same story used to be the alternative and gritty place. Now it has one of the most expensive condo buildings in the city and "entertainment complex" which Spielberg is a part of.... SPIELBERG FOR GODS SAKE!!!! I truly can appreciate the loss of the good things about "old New York"
