Thanks for comments. Tesla Roadster's technology is awesome. DC battery power to 3 Phase AC with adjustable Hentz (cycles per second). Wind Generators and solar water pumps use similar electronic controllers. And soon the second generation Lithium-ion batteries will be here with double the power capacity. We have the technology NOW to slow down and eventually stop global warming.

They sold out the first 240 just on pre-orders, at (I think), $114,000 base price. Tesla also is now making an "S" class 4 door, at a more modest base price of $57,000. They have the lead in the US, and most of the world, for an all electric cars, far out in front of GM, or Ford. There's a Chinese company that uses laptop computer batteries as their power source that is one of their only competitors as far as technology goes.

Before the economic recovery money was given out, Ford being the only car company that turned down any money, Tesla had received a $350 million loan from the government for plant design, and building, to put them into full production.

When their "S" class car hits the market in another year, sales should be similar to the roadster. They are an awesome company, with just a few private investors.
