What luck I have!!!!
So I got a new car (OK maybe not new but new for me) nice silver CRV and i think maybe had it for 1 week before I leave it in my condo parking lot at night and go upstairs for some RandR. About 45 minutes later there is a knock at the door and it is a nice security man that says hey your new car just rolled out of the spot it was parked in and about 15 meters into a wall that is made of volcanic rock. To which my very calm and collect response to was "What the F*%&$_)_^^)(*^!!!!!!" I walk outside to see my car is in fact about 15 meters from where I parked it and has destroyed a wall that is used as a planter box. It was definitely my fault cause I did not put the hand brake on. But how it suddenly moved after being stationary for about 30 minutes I will never know.
Anyway, I am trying to figure out how I will pay for the damage this week. Which is not super bad, but something I would rather not have to do. Well, as with all things in my life I got an unexpected answer, and while sitting at a red light today the answer came to me.
It came in the sound of a screech from behind my car by the baht bus that was behind me going way too fast and breaking, but too late, and slammed into my car.
The other fortunate thing was that the police officer that was at the intersection is someone I know and said that the driver was totally at fault.
I must admit that I am a little surprised that the driver did not claim that I was the dumb farang that should know that Thai people don't stop at red lights and it was my fault for not going through the intersection.
In the end the damage caused today was way worse than anything I had happen in my first "wall versus car" accident. I guess my trips to the temple with friends lately have been worth while??? Nah I am an Athiest it is all just luck.
