Some truth in this I feel. It is the sad truth that SOME people are prejudice to paint all Thai people with the same brush. Its hard for westerners to except Thai people when there is such a stigma attached. Just watch the comedy show 'Little Britain' and the portrayal of 'Ting Tong'.

From my perspective its a 9-1 gamble to be with a Thai girl. The reaction and comments I got from colleagues and friends when I said I had a Thai fiancee was with hindsight correct. Thai girls are perceived as money grabbing lying whores.

The 'Adult' section of many western papers are littered with advertisements from Thai girls. You never see Indian, Brazilian, Hispanic girls selling themselves to the same extent. Why is this? It does not help the westerners perspective.

So your books analogy is correct, the dog may sit, roll over and fetch a stick but it is still a dog!

I was in an English Hotel and was served by a couple of Asian waitresses, clearly Thai. When I asked where they came from they said 'Japan' WTF? It was not until later I quized them more and they admitted there Thai origins. Such is the stigma they felt. They were hardworking students from the local university.

For Thai people to understand the prejudice is the first step, only then can the 'dog' become mans best friend.

it's only ignorant ppl who would view any other race or nationality as a dog .... unfortunately every country has it's share of ignorant ppl !!!!

however .... i took my ex gf to ireland 4 years ago and everybody treated her very well ... in fact she commented on how friendly ppl there were !! so NOT all westerners think of thais (or anybody else) as dogs !!

Pocket Rocket you sse only the ugly in adds in a news paper etc, have a look in the Main News Paper in Australia and you will see Indian, hipanic,Oh do you put Phillipine down as Hispanic, yeah well them to,and millions of white sex workers as well.

The fact is most woman get married these days and need, want security of some sort or need to work & make security.I wouldn't like to tell my wife to sit as you do to a dog.Thats a command call, not an asking.

And any guy who treats a lady of any discrption like that needs tieing to a lamp post and flogging.

Kusuma if I were a Thai I would feel very proud as all Thai's I know are to be one.

You know most Australians heritage were brought to Aust as convicts and the English treated Australians like dogs then, since then our parents have fought hard to make the dog image disappear so if you think all foreigners look or treat Thai's as dogs you are making a huge mistake.

I have friends that have taken their wives to Thailand and they have all fallen in love with not only Thailand but the people them selves.

..:: P' Nikkie and BJ.. I appreciate your comments.., thank you.

..The point I would like to mention here is if you were thai but you 'trying' to be like farang ( eg. the way you speak , behave etc. ) You will be looked at like 'something' that pretend to be Not genuine you..

But if you were thai but you born/grow up/educated in farang land you would be considered diffirent..
