Pee to help make your garden grow

Gardeners at a National Trust property in Cambridgeshire are urging people to relieve themselves outdoors to help gardens grow greener.

A three-metre long "pee bale" has been installed at Wimpole Hall.

Head gardener Philip Whaites is urging his male colleagues to pee on the straw bale to activate the composting process on the estate's compost heap.

He said the "pee bale" is only in use out of visitor hours, since "we don't want to scare the public".

He said: "For eight weeks now, male members of our garden and estate teams have been using the outdoor straw bale when nature calls.

"The pee bale is excellent matter to add to our compost heap to stimulate the composting process; and with over 400 acres of gardens and parkland to utilise compost, we need all the help we can get.

France celebrates becoming even more detestable

France has increased its gap at the bottom of the global ‘Loathsome Nations League’ after its football team cheated the loveable Irish out of a place at next year’s World Cup finals in South Africa.

Following last night’s result, France have dropped a further three points behind Iran, the second most detested nation on the planet who are themselves one point behind North Korea.

The move comes after a small pocket of International appreciation for the French national football team withdrew that support after watching them cheat their way to victory in a World Cup play-off.

Thierry Henry picked up the ball and threw it at William Gallas in the move which led to France’s winning goal.

“I’ve always liked watching France play football, ever since Zidane got into their side. They were entertaining,†said previous supporter John Hughes.

“That entertainment sort of balanced out all the obnoxious sheep burning stuff everyone else from that country was doing.â€

“It meant you could describe my overall attitude to France as being ‘ambivalent’, just about.â€

Nature

However, in the face of defeat last night, one of France’s least punchable citizens, Thierry Henry could no longer hide his true nature as a despicable cheating ****.

“I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised,†continued Hughes.

“He might come across as a nice bloke when he’s interviewed, but he IS French, and you can only hide that from the world for so long.â€

“His inherent Frenchness shone through last night, and now he’s just another garlic munching capitulation artiste.â€

As a result of last night’s result, the people of Ireland are planning to retaliate with a national ban on French kissing.

Brits fined for pigeon tossing in Poland

Pair fined for throwing pigeons in the air in Krakow

By TOM PHILLIPS - Wednesday, November 18, 2009

Two British tourists in Poland's historic city of Krakow have pleaded guilty to accusations of pigeon tossing.

The two 24-year-old men have been fined for cruelty to animals after forcefully throwing the two pigeons in the air in Krakow's Renaissance market on October 24.

The apparently stunned birds were not able to open their wings and fell to the ground, breaking their wings.

Prosecutor Boguslawa Marcinkowska says a Polish court on Tuesday fined each of the men 600 zlotys (around £130) each.

She identified them as Lee James W. of Ulverston and Arron David P. of Barrow in Furness, but did not give their last names in line with Polish privacy law.

She says she does not know whether the pigeons survived.
