Songkran-Headed to Isaan

I've heard the traffic is horrendous around this time. I've also heard that if you take a longer route via the eastern sea border before heading north, you don't hit the huge traffic jams.

Anyone have ideas for going to and coming back from Sisaket during this time?

I'm in Loei, Isarn right now.. traffic was so fine... we just see the map and design our directions...

We avoided Korat, Khonkhan by going to Lopbiri and Petchboon, then we get to Loei so easily,
