How old is she, and is she used to travelling on her own? The reason I ask is that if she is quite young you probably will want to put her on as direct a route as possible. That prob means NYC to BKK. Not sure what the flights are like from PEI to NYC, but certainly there are lots from Montreal and Ottawa and possibly a few from Halifax. Have used these guys once in Ottawa a long time ago, and they were fine : http://www.ottawakiosk.com/cgi-bin/linkto.pl?url=/go/link.php?url=http://www.bytowntravel.com

Gilles (tf id Harleyguy) is a nice guy and lives in Montreal, maybe PM him and ask who he uses as well.

Check if The Adventure Travel Company has an orifice in Ottawa. They're affiliated with Travel CUTS, the student travel agency on many uni campuses throughout Canada. Their Toronto branch handles all of the Africa/Asia bookings and leaves the Travel CUTS offices to take care of Europe, USA, domestic. I've booked plenty of flights through them, always decent service and decent fares. Student/youth fares may or may not be much of a bargain - often there's no savings at all, because only a more expensive airline offers a student fare, which you can beat using an Asian airline. But always worth asking.

I've flown Thai/Air Canada combos often, via Vancouver or LA and then a stop in Tokyo or HK before reaching BKK. It might cost $100 more than KAL but I get Star Alliance freq. flyer points for the whole route that way. Not sure how much starting in Charlottetown will add, or if it will make the Atlantic route work out cheaper than the Pacific route. (From Toronto the Pacific route is always cheaper, though it takes slightly longer.)

I found the URL:

http://www.atcadventure.com/canada/

There is an Ottawa office, and the web page says they are wholly owned by Travel CUTS.

Good luck.
