Oh the same way possibly then: also are "morning after/regret pills" illegal then? (Pills that are meant to prevent possibly fertilized egg to attach itself to the wall of uterus during the first 24-48 hours of possible "insemination"...) (These are prescribed or sold over the counter after consultation to people who are afraid broken condom or otherway missing contraception or are victims of rape.)

They are legal

Cost for a course is 25 THB

You can get them from any pharmacist. There is no need for any "consultation".

Neither the packaging or the pharmacist usually stresses enough that these pills are not for regular use and should not be taken regularly.

Abortion is illegal but every hospital will point to where such a service can be performed, if asked. Although horrible back street places do operate upcountry, there are many safe and clean clinics which do the "operation" for 3,000-15,000 baht depending on circumstances, progression etc.

It is a Buddhist country and even doctors who carry out this service will try to persuade a woman to keep the baby unless she has a strong reason not to, and give her a stiff lecture, etc.

Not only condoms but normal birth control pills are availale in 7 Elevens
