CocoaBrotha
The fever has already caught on where I live. I plan on getting one, but not now. With all the talk about the glitches, bugs and also, it cannot play older PS2 games plus the steep price of $699USD!!? I would rather wait! Also the Ninentdo Wii....I will have to get used to the "wand." I like what I see from this machine, but know so little about it. Who's getting one? DJCrystaL
I am getting a Wii for sure, with the capabilities to play all the games you loved as a child (nes,snes,sega,genesis,neo-geo,turbografix 16) and I enjoy the fact that they are not focusing on making the graphics so realistic (I enjoy playing a game that doesn't resemble reality) and focusing more on story lines...also they are not charging the price of your first born and wil have 40 games at launch
zeusbheld
i'm in wait-and-see mode on the ps3. i like the idea of having a blu-ray player, it's the better of the two hi def formats, but i want to see if significant numbers of movies become available. if it doesn't play ps2 games (WTF!!!!) then it almost certainly doesn't have a scaler, i'd rather have a dvd player with a scaler than a bluray if i go hidef. lately i've been playing "kessen III" on ps2. allegedly it's a strategy game but gameplay consists of play a battle (mostly chop and slash, little in the way of strategy or tactics) watch a movie, play a battle or two, watch another really dreadfully bad movie, play a battle, watch an even longer dreadful movie... you have next to no control of the overall strategy in this "strategy' game. you just watch well-animated, incredibly bad movie after incredibly bad movie. it will have ZERO replay value once i finish it, and i'll only finish it coz of my OCD. grand theft auto-san andreas, on the other hand, gives you an entire world almost. which approach will rule the day on PS3? i am worried that it will be the kessen approach given the spectacular graphics ability. i'll wait until i hear a thing or two about how the games play on ps3, rather than cool screenshots of killer animations, before i even consider buying one. if the day comes it will probably be a killer update of a sports game that sells it to me, as the gameplay tends to be fairly sophisticated on sports games, and likely moreso with more computing power. i'm so far, not interested in wii because i *like* the more realistic games, i'm not much interested in 'traditional' video games. i prefer sports and simulations (although i dont like first-person shooters). SHORT VERSION: basically a novel-length, unfocused ramble to say "no, i am not interested in buying either one right now."
DJCrystaL
I think this sums it up.....and if you pay 650 USD for a "game" you deserve to be sh*t on...the price alone is completely retarded...I mean I can build a computer to play the same games on for a little more than this....and it can go above and byond....not to mention anywhere up to 95 USD per game....it's completely outragous

John
At the moment Nintendo is winning hands down! I'm lucky to get the Wii when it was released here in the UK. It's been out for a few months now and still hard to find anywhere. PS3 is yet to be released in Europe until end of march. But with all the bugs in its system and bad sales around Asia and America.. don't know if it will be a success story here. Time will tell. Stick with the Xbox 360 or Wii
