I've entered Thailand many times with visa on arrival and no return ticket and they never said anything to me.

i think u r more likely to have problems at ur point of departure rather than arrival .... i have been queried both in belfast and london as to why i was travelling to thailand/sri lanka without a return ticket. as soon as they saw visa/work permit no further problems !!

Yes Kitschguy there are restrictions. Good posts from Viggop and CiaranM.

You?re in the UK, best place to go is the Thai-consulate in Hull and get a non-immigrant ?O? visa. You can?t work on this visa however. See my journal entry Non-immigrant ?O? visa for more information. There are a few guys on TF that have gone down this route.

I re-checked my journal and have seen you made a comment. Depends on your individual circumstances of course.

Do not book a one-way ticket without a visa. You will be denied boarding for the reason Viggop stated.

When i came to Thailand in November i came on an open ticket and had to GUARANTEE to EVA Air that i was getting a visa BEFORE they sold it to me and also the visa was checked about 3 times before i even got into departures.

They warned me that if i turned up to the airport without it i would be DENEID travel and i would lose my flight.
