Dave40
I think the West Indies on home soil could be a good bet, especially if Lara turns up to play, given that Aust have won the last 2 W/Cups they may struggle here as long as we beat England and NZ I don't care and you can toss South Africa in there as well!!!! Dave40
This may interest someOr This It's worth putting a few (dollars, baht, pounds) on the West Indies their players have the talent (Gayle) (on his day is great) they just have to play the game between the ears well!!! At 7/1 not a bad bet!!! They have a fair chance of winning!!!

MikeAussieGuy
WEST Indian all-rounder Dwayne Smith dominated with bat and ball to ensure the World Cup hosts opened the competition with a 54-run victory over Group D rivals Pakistan at Sabina Park today. The West Indies made 9-241 and then bowled Pakistan out for 187. It marked a superb return to form after they were crushed by India by nine wickets having been skittled for 85 in their final warm-up game on Friday. MikeAussieGuy
Australia beat the Scots by a couple of hundred runs today. Being the outside favourites for the WC at the slim odds of 1000/1 the Scots were no pushover, and now after this experience are expected to whitewash the POM's, WI and NZ teams. One of the bowlers for the Scots is the Marketing Manager for the ground where the game was played, so it was a formidable bowling attack that they had

MikeAussieGuy
IRELAND has chosen St Patrick's Day to produce the greatest upset in World Cup history here today. It defeated mighty Pakistan by three wickets to send the 1992 champion, and one of game's undisputed superpowers, crashing out of the tournament. The win for Ireland, made up mostly of part-timers and foreign imports, was secured when skipper Trent Johnston hit a huge six off Azhar Mahmood from the fourth ball of the 43rd over at Sabina Park. It wasn't Ireland that beat Pakistan now was it! Mind you England have an Irishman and 2 South Africans (not to mention a spinner with Indian heritage and seamer with Pakistani heritage) in our squad so I can't really talk!
