CiaranM
It is alleged up to 5 members (players/staff) of the Pakistan tour party were involved in match-fixing (losing) the first game against the West Indies, because they thought the remaining two group games were a forgone conclusion. Then they lost to Irleand. Whoops. Bob Woolmer found out his own internal people were involved and was about to blow the whistle. Match-fixing has long been a problem in Pakistani cricket shocking .... absolute tragedy .... all over a game of cricket. well i guess it's probably more to do with millions of dollars being gambled and lost on these cricket matches !!! awful news none the less !!! MikeAussieGuy
Anyone believing the loss by Pakistan to Ireland was not the result of a thrown match I have a slightly used bridge in Sydney up for sale.
CiaranM
Anyone believing the loss by Pakistan to Ireland was not the result of a thrown match I have a slightly used bridge in Sydney up for sale. actually the speculation is that it was the match against the west indies was the one they chucked, as they reckoned ireland and zimbawe would be walk overs. obviously they didn't know off irelands proud record in cricket one day internationals !! StevieJR
No danger the Ireland result was a fix, as the min anyone was daft enough to put any money On Ireland the bookies would have smelt a rat right away....The Windes v Pakistan could have went either way so it wouldnt look too suss if vast amounts of money was going on either team.. I had 50 000 baht on Ireland beating Scotland at pool today and we got humped.....No-one noticed I threw the game RESULT!!!!!!
Treborz
Thought it was Malinga that was accused of chucking. Mully is a spin bowler.

I don't know much about cricket. Would it be easy to throw a game? How would you do it without it being really obvious?
Treborz
Well you can give your wicket away easily enough, bowlers can intentionally bowl a bad line for a few delivieries each over, drop catches that don't look so easy. Lots of things you can do.
CiaranM
Well you can give your wicket away easily enough, bowlers can intentionally bowl a bad line for a few delivieries each over (or 6 times per over), drop catches that don't look so easy (and even drop the easy ones).Lots of things you can do. England do that all the time ..... hmmmm suspicious behaviour or just a lousy cricket team !!!
Dave40
Australia 6/377 after their 50 overs South Africa all out for 294, with hayden scoring a century after facing 66 balls we are going to be hard to defeat!!! Where are all the South Africans on this site now!!!!!
Treborz
You won't be that hard to defeat.

Treborz
You still conceded 294 runs...i don't think you would have chased that down if you had batted 2nd. We won't make the semi finals you are correct. We will finish 6th ahead of Ireland and Bangladesh I fancy Sri Lanka to go all the way.
