anenglishman
This from the BBC: Ex-Thai PM steps up Man City bid Manchester City Former Thailand prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has emerged as the frontrunner to buy Manchester City. Thaksin has been granted access to the club's accounts and his advisers will carry out due diligence before reporting their findings to him. Thaksin, who failed to buy Liverpool three years ago, has been linked with a £100m bid for City. His offer is believed to be more favourable to City than that of rival bidder Ray Ranson. The club were not happy with some of the terms of Ranson's initial proposal before he submitted an updated version. But Thaksin made contact with City on Monday and the process for him to take over the Eastlands outfit has moved on quickly. Due diligence allows a potential buyer to examine the accounts of the organisation in question and decide whether it is a worthwhile investment for them to make. Loburt
That's the only thing he could get elected to without buying votes. Oh, I forgot, the telecom gangster promised to give the Thai PGA 2 billion baht from his Thaicom Foundation. I guess he bought that election too. So nice to see him using his foundation to help Thailand's underprivileged.

Hehe, the guy has been on a nonstop shopping spree since September 2006. :-D And buying into some golf clubs presidency? I would have been surprised if you DO not get into that kind of things with money from starters...Next thing I think he is going to buy is a membership in some polo club in UK and then what next, something suitable hi-so. Cigar club in Washington DC? I am out of ideas about classic elitist hobbies. Does he has a horse club and jockey already? I think investing in horses is next in line! :-D :-P

I think investing in horses is next in line! :-D :-P Dear sunsnow, i believe u pick up a wrong quotation. Thanks for loving me so much, anyway. And it is soccer that Thais watch every week, esp Brit and European soccer. Not basketball, hockey, rugby. But to showing an irony to Prem's metaphor, he should buy the horses club ja. (Not long before coup happened, Prem gave a speech to the military students that the military is like a horse, the government is like a jockey only. And the jockey doesn't own the horse, he is just employed. It is the owner to own the whole business. The jockey has to do what the owner commands. I do not remember who Prem was referring to by the owner. But it is not we the citizens. So go Mr. Thaksin! buying position of The Presidency of Thailand's Horse Love Club. No I dont believe I picked up wrong one, your comment was . I was laughing at the idea. Then I came up with other things to join and buy. Maybe to seperate these ideas I should have used some sort of line. I am very well aware of some Thai ppls fascination with European soccer. I was merely comparing other things to buy, not in anyway referring to their popularity in Th.
