I have a couple of Americans friends here in bkk and during our cultural piss taking conversations they've talked about drunk, fighting brits, and we do seem to have a name for it.

The problem is that, some brits are actually proud to have this perception, and I've had the misfortune of meeting a few who like to fight, cos they're 'ard' and it makes them feel like men, but really they are a minority, but it is generally this minority that will go on these 18-30 type holidays, in large groups, where the whole focus is to get blind drunk every day/night.

I don't think it's a north/south thing, more a CHAV thing with the brits.

Spot on.Its the usual Brit class thing.Thailand's coast has just become another variation of your traditional summer Med piss up resort.As thye say all good things eventually have to come to an end.For the hedonistic purists there's still places like the Philippines........better beaches,cheaper beer,grim food.Depends what you're after really. :wink:
