I need to be very concentrate when reading it so I always excuse myself from reading it. I really like this book, even after first chapter it made me stop and think and try to understand other more than I used to be. It's about how to communicate to others with no harm and then everyone( your boss, clients spouse, family, friends.) are happy at the end. There are examples from various situations telling you about what may have in mind of others which make them think they are right while other are not. http://www.amazon.com/Difficult-Conversations-Discuss-what-Matters/dp/014028852X/ref=si3_rdr_bb_product
sabaisabai
.audiobook... 8) Philosophy of Mind: Brains, Consciousness, and Thinking Machines Nothing in the universe is more mysterious than the inner workings of the human mind. Do other people have a mind like yours and, if so, how do you know? Is your mind something distinct from your body, or do ordinary physiological processes produce minds? Can a machine have a mind? What is consciousness? Do you have free will? Is everything you are now experiencing actually happening, or is that an elaborate illusion created by the mind? CIA_Andie
Within each generation, there are thirty-six righteous souls. Their lives hold the key to the fate of the world. Now someone wants them dead. When a childhood tragedy comes back to haunt Professor David Shepherd, he finds himself in possession of knowledge that holds the world in a delicate balance. He uncovers the Book of Names---an ancient text originating with the biblical Adam, and thought lost to history forever. By Kabbalistic tradition, the book contains the names of each generation?s thirty-six righteous souls---the Hidden Ones---by whose merits alone the world continues to exist. Legend holds that if all thirty-six Hidden Ones were eliminated, the world would meet its end. When the Hidden Ones start dying of unnatural causes, the world grows increasingly unstable: war in Afghanistan, massive flooding in New York, brutal terrorist attacks in Melbourne, a tanker explosion in Iran. David finds himself battling against the Gnoseos, a secret religious sect whose goal is to destroy the world by eliminating all of the righteous souls. David?s involvement quickly turns personal when his stepdaughter?s name is discovered to be one of the endangered. With the help of a brilliant and beautiful Israeli ancient texts expert, David races to decipher the traditions of the Kabbalah to save the righteous souls, his stepdaughter, and perhaps the world. Stramash
I am currently rereading the 2007 Beano annual. This is an interesting sociological study of angst ridden youth seen through the eyes of that disenfranchised and disaffected youth themselves. Without going into too much detail, I will briefly mention two of the main characters; Dennis is one of the primary Beano characters; a typical boy worrying about what typical boys worry about. Each week, you share in the agonies and joys of Dennis's adventures as he gets into all sorts of japes and scrapes, adding a little more to his accumulating wisdom with each one. From grittier more Mike Leigh- like 'Bash Street Kids', comes Plug. Bash Street is a typical inner city school, with all the problems that comes with an inner city; drugs, prostitution, shoplifting. But Plug's problems far outweigh those minor concerns; for Plug is cosmetically challenged. Without rohypnol Plug will always be single and unhappy, and unless his self esteem issues are addressed, possible addiction, self harm and suicide beckon. Each week, you will laugh and cry along with Plug, and silently thank your gods that you weren't born with a face like an ar*e. If you get a chance, get a friend from the UK to bring you a copy. If you understand British kids, you may understand British adults...
