kartal
Could anyone suggest a good muay thai training camp. Im not too bothered where in Thailand but somewhere cheap would be nice. Im looking to train for maybe one month. Thanks
jamie_1
there are loads, but I have had a good time at Lanna Muay Thai in Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai is cheaper than living in BKK. There are a lot of farang now, but there are good trainers, some speak some English. You can train 2 x a day 6 days a week if you are up for it. It's only hard core if you want it to be, it's entirely up to you. there are guys who only train , eat, and sleep, and there are guys who go out at night and train in the afternoon. I like hanging out in Chiang Mai , but it all depends on your style. http://www.lannamuaythai.com/ pm me if you have any questions about the camp or CM
kartal
oh nice one thanks. i had looked at this previously because i love chiang mai and as a price comparison to the ones in the south its extremely cheap! although they didnt include meals in the pricing which the others did so i would have to allow for that.. and when i train i eat enough food for about 3 guys lol

vbroker
http://www.fairtex.com/overview.php About 45 minutes out of Bangkok in an area called Bangplee. Not much to do there that I saw outside the complex. There's another location in Pattaya and you already know what the social scene is like there. If you happen to be in the San Francisco Bay Area there are two here: one in SF proper and one in Mountain View near Silicon Valley.

Was about to post this :x Will be expensive to train at fairtex but well worth it... If you train at Fairtex, Pattaya there's a good chance u will be training with Yoddy (Yodsaenklai), Naruepol, Kaew and a number of other amazing fighters... not sure if this makes up for having to stay in Pattaya tho. :? mr_wayne
depending on what level you want to train....por pramuk gym at Chacheonsoa is good....train along side k1 champ Buakaw.Very tuff work load but the results are amazing......its all rural area so theres no partying to interfere with the training. luckyphil247
Unless you're planning to fight, it's not going to make a huge difference which training camp you choose. You're going to benefit regardless, as long as you're willing to train hard. Choose a camp based on where you'd like to stay and on price if budget is an issue. That is spot on and if you have never trained MT or some form of kick-boxing before, a serious MT camp IS NOT the best place to start learning. They are for people who already know their ****. Guest BackinBangkok
Try going to Pattaya there are a lot there, its close to the airport and has all the amenities and decent yet cheap accommodation close by .. plus it has western food i personally find it impossible to train whilst eating Thai food. Why not join Tony's gym on 3rd rd for a month and just book a trainer for a one on one session and do some pad work and sparing, (you can hit a bag by yourself) .. for an hour a day this'll cost 300bht a time, then youve the gym to do your strength work. There are plenty of gyms there best to go and have a look and go to wherever takes your fancy, also you want to see if you click with the coach i the ring as this makes a big difference and also that he speaks good English. Also id do some good training before arriving as if youre not near peak fitness, training in this heat will make you quit after a week. I saw the one in Pattaya, looks pretty much more commercial than a place for serious training. But nice facilities though.
