Aphisit should be ashamed of himself. He couldnt secure the venue? wtf? Thailand spends sh*tloads on military and soldiers and generals. Where were they? Why cant they do their job? If Thais cant rely on that institution to preserve order and the One Who Never Smiles is in the twilight of his years, for the first time in 18 years of activity in Thailand I am seriously concerned it cant hold together and could sink into another losing southeast asian popcorn fart. He should have had the city blanketed with every uniform soldier alive. They should have secured all the roads around Royal Clif Resort - there are only 2 ways in, for christs sake. he did not do it because, either the mililtary said no or he was afraid of how it would look. did you see the navy boys holding hands yesterday. it was ridiculous. the red shirts walked through them. the navy looked like school girls. And he doesn't really have the backing of the police... And he doesn't have the backing of the voters... Who's backing him? It looks as if the army wants things to get out of control. They already caused one government to lose control of the situation, now they are sitting there and letting it happen again. Next thing people will have no choice but to beg the army to take over. Pooyai are probably used to people bowing down to their "wisdom" no matter HOW asinine it is. Quite a message they're sending to the world. "Our armed forces and security personnel are SO incompetent and corrupt, that we've recruited average citizens, armed with sticks and metal rods, to protect your leaders." ******* BRILLIANT!!!
