easy way to say thanks.....

It's about saying thanks to those who give sacrifice and service it's not about politics. Regardless of your poiltics and to those on tf... it's to you regardless of what country you serve.

extreme detox....

This has to be better then the 5 star yuppie treatment places here in the west.   Fifteen-year-old Wanchai Nuantasiri is one of more than a dozen drug addicts kneeling in a row, vomiting violently into the gutter. Monks in dark brown robes stand behind the sick, rubbing their backs encouragingly, while onlookers dance and clap cheerfully to an incessant drum beat. This bizarre scene, set amid spectacular golden Buddhas and rocky mountains in the heart of Thailand, has been a daily ritual at Tham

The war on terror is OFFICIALLY OVER!

well according the Obama administration....This has been in the works for some time and it's just been a question of if it's not a war on 'terror' what is it? Many people I talked with and some in the Intel and military community thought a war on 'extremism'. Many of the countries of the world have 'extremist' groups (KKK, IRA, Japanese Red Army, ETA of Spain, ULFA of India, Islamic Jihad, Al-qaeda of course, etc). This would make the most sense to show this is not against one group (since not a

didn't the nazis start out this way?

Maybe Obama is just trying to follow Kim jong Ill, CHina, Iran's and Hugo Chave'z example.... how long before they start to close media outlets next? When political debate about something before the government is being asked to be monitered by fellows citizens what's next? US Senators on Wednesday sharply assailed a White House request for supporters to help track "fishy" claims about President Barack Obama's plans to overhaul US health care. "I am not aware of any precedent for a president aski

killer soccer moms?

I saw this and well I figured all this was pretty funny and interesting. Seems like most of the girls were bored house wives doing something for fun not training for security professions.  Be careful around that soccer mom sitting next to you. She may just be a trained killer. Courtesy of the Stiletto Spy School, ordinary women around the country are channeling their inner Bond girls — learning everything from hand-to-hand combat to seductive dancing, SWAT team-style firearm skills to keeping

skype might be shut down....

Skype might have to shut down because of a dispute over the core technology used to make the internet telephone system work. EBay, which paid $2.6 billion (£1.6 billion) for the voice-over-the-internet system in 2005, is facing a court battle with the original founders of the company who retained the rights to the technology at the heart of the system. EBay admitted in a regulatory filing that it might have to close down the company. It said it was trying to develop alternative software but if t

the creepiest thing I've ever heard of!

my military friend sent this who got it from another friend.... this truly creeps me out and that's saying something! It could be a combination of 19th-century mechanics, 21st-century technology — and a 20th-century horror movie.A Maryland company under contract to the Pentagon is working on a steam-powered robot that would fuel itself by gobbling up whatever organic material it can find — grass, wood, old furniture, even dead bodies (yes you read that right dead bodies!!!!).Robotic Technology In

how do you find a middle ground

During a recent conversation with a friend who is in her mid 20's ( a russian Jew now living in NY) and my roommate ( a Filipino Christian ) in her early 30's and myself when the topic came to dating and marriage. The roommate recently broke up with a bf and the younger girl is presently single so we began talking about what they wanted and being divorced myself what my thoughts were. Which one lasted longer in today’s society. Sinces divorces in the US are basically 1 in 2 ( it's over 50%  so 1

carbongate....

My friend came upon this from his investment readings and it's making it's way all over the world except ironically to a lot of the main stream media who has a total love affair with Obama. I agree to some a pretty large amount with the bad way we had been going with the environment and need for change. I also see some of it as over blown  like how the temp in Ny this summer has been record setting low a few times for a summer. I really just seem to think Nancy Pelosi seems to be a dangerous per

hijacking a word

I was reading the wall street journal and why this story made it in there I don't know. However it did and I can't belive how far pc correctness has come. Spare me the comments about what the indians have been through blah blah blah we all know and this is not about that. In Stockton, Maine a dead end road has been arguing over it's name of "squaw". At some point in the 90's suddenly the name for indian women which had been the english way of saying it from some Indian Nation's language. However

it's great being right!

Well after years of complaints and moral arguments, protests, and those in supposed positions of knowing what others really felt...... People who really did know better got defeated in their attempts to handle every situation in a more proper way and still those in the opposition whined away.  Now the time has come to end the arguing and return that which was taken....NOW suddenly those of the 'moral high ground' suddenly see how wrong they have been. The places of the missing suddenly had lost

mystery deaths at koh phi phi....

BANGKOK ? Two young women ? one from the United States and the other from Norway ? died after suddenly falling ill within hours of each other at a guesthouse on a tourist resort island in southern Thailand. Police said Thursday they did not know the cause of the deaths, though various theories have circulated, including food or alcohol poisoning and toxic fumes. The two women were staying on Koh Phi Phi, a popular destination for budget travelers. The American was identified by her family as

is my lack of experience in these bars my reason for amazement?

I'm sorry but this is damn incredible athletism! It's a hell of a lot better then rhytmic gymnastics and now I see why so many gyms in the US are offering women's and men's pole dancing classes! http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/80626208/II put the URL in case the embed video isn't working

ketchup not just for french fries...

First I did copy and paste this because it's interesting and I never thought of it. So why not... Whether you enjoy ketchup with fries or -- like some people who don't use mayonnaise or gravy-- a few fries with a boatload of ketchup, there's no denying the ubiquity and popularity of the distinctive red condiment. Ketchup has been satirized, politicized (W Ketchup anyone?) and considered for reclassification as a vegetable. Many folks can't even agree how it should be spelled (catsup or catchup

need assistance for price info

One of my friends for some reason has her farang friend who is alllllllllllllllll the way in New York about info for prices on getting waxed in bkk. She figured I have mostly female friends who are more modern and not conservative who would know about that and I guess it guess made sense to ask. I obviously don't know directly so I figured the tf community could give info on spas or places that do waxing and preferable hot wax not the cold wax. Thanks everyone.

shutterstock....

Well with the recent photo contest and the budding artist on here I though I would tell everyone about this site for those who aren't already aware of it. www.shutterstock.com Is a site for photographers to upload their pics and possible have them purchased over and over again for commercial and private use. A lot of them never get purchased of course, but it doesn't hurt to try. Right? It has subscriptions so you can get access to them all or on demand pics and the photographers get a p

'he's just that not into you'...

Ok I admit it I went to see the movie this weekend because of my oldest friends had read the books and she really wanted to see it and so did my roommate and yes it looked funny.. ok. Well I have to say I actually think I lost testoerone watching this movie! lol You know how people will say 'awwww' like when they see a baby or something? Imagine a packed movie theatre doing that at points in a movie!!!!! I swear I felt like Tom Hanks in 'a league of their own' ..... there's no 'awwwwwwww' in a

recruiting educated professionals

I posted something like this before for my friend who is a recruiter. She had her pc formatted by IT at her company and lost all her contacts so I said would repost this for professionals with a bachelors at a minimum. If you are a ex-pat and/or speak multiple languages is of course prefered. Her name is May and can be reached at [email protected] Her regular work email we agreed not to post and she had problem with the email she used last time with spam so she changed it. I really h

first snow and it's a dooozy!

Well today started the first of winter's icy grasp. We're expected to reach somewhere upwards around 6 inches of snow around the city. it's funny this morning when I left it was not to bad out actually. It was not to windy or even that cold out. Then in like an hour it felt like it dropped 20 degrees and the wind kicked up so much so when it did start to snow it was almost going completely sideways! Sometimes I really think about just moving to Hawaii or something and being a beach or back to Fl

amazing to see it happen

I see on discovery channel and various nature shows how they are amazed when other primates learn something new. Well the other day I was at a church with a friend (and no I didn't burst into flames ... amazing I know 555). This couple was there with a rather rambunctious little boy and who was truly adorable. The service was being held in the church schools gym because it was a post Thanksgiving dinner ... well feast because of all the food I will call. There was a center section set up with ta

a joke....the rest of the conversation.....

What happened with the rest of the conversation between Darth Vader & Luke Skywalker? Darth Vader vs Luke Skywalker A furious light saber duel is under way. DARTH VADER is backing LUKE SKYWALKER toward the end of the gantry. A quick move by Vader, chops off Luke's hand! It goes spinning off into the ventilation shaft. Luke looks round, but realizes there's nowhere to go but straight down. DARTH VADER: "Obi Wan never told you what happened to your father." LUKE: "He told me enough! He t

the naked man?

tonight I'm watching one of my favorite shows 'how I met your mother'. In it the episode premise is a guy goes on a date with one of the characters and when she goes outside to answer a call he strips naked (hence the title 'the naked man' move) and at first she laughs then out of randomness, freakiness, sadness (hers or yours), petty, or whatever they end up sleeping with you. NOW... this is done only as a last resort when you don't see a second date or what ever date is next. Ok I know so
