Well after years of complaints and moral arguments, protests, and those in supposed positions of knowing what others really felt...... People who really did know better got defeated in their attempts to handle every situation in a more proper way and still those in the opposition whined away.  Now the time has come to end the arguing and return that which was taken....NOW suddenly those of the 'moral high ground' suddenly see how wrong they have been. The places of the missing suddenly had lost their reason for moral arguments. They not only have no arguments but not even will accept those who they have argued for or complained for.  Ironic how even those who complained the most will not take back their missing.  I guess this is what happens when you lose poltical position and are faced with actually taking back violent terrorists who would even attack your own people as seen in Pakistan. This will be the legacy of Guantanamo..... don't listen to some whiners unless they are willing to put their money where their mouth is. Military conflicts require military courts and they should've finished what they started and used them. SO now we have prisoners that their own countries won't even take back. Funny only seem's like the white people are the ones complaining since even in their own countries they know they are treated better, feed better, and receive better medical care then could get.

just the same 3 I would expect to same those things yet facts are what they are.... the prisoners in gitmo who we want to send home are not being allowed home. Their countries don't want them and those who do KNOW their criminals also and will show them what real torture is... waterboarding is crap compared to what happens in prisons in other countries.

thats one of the most ridiculous things I have read recently.

you could use about 50 waterboards to understand a few things about the whole injustice of the situaion.

BO is doing the best thing possible. Closing the place and letting things work out as best they can. He inherited that disaster.

"SO now we have prisoners that their own countries won't even take back." "Their countries don't want them and those who do KNOW their criminals also and will show them what real torture is."

Your contradicting yourself and obviously understand very little about the situation of relocating ex-Gitmo detainees who are not planned to be prosecuted because they are not accused to have commissioned a criminal offence - we'll leave aside the obvious problem of unlawful detention without due process for so many years. Not even Nazi and Japanese war criminals were held without due process.

The previous administration decided to close Gitmo and was already seeking to relocate some detainees to third countries, the Uighur Muslims being the prime example, due to the real fear that returning to their home country would expose them to torture and mistreatment.

There are two things that we can all posses, a capacity for knowledge and understanding, and the ability to seek info on anything. The former is patently lacking for you in respect of this issue so perhaps try to fulfill the latter by using the internet more wisely.

Military conflicts require POW camps where captured soldiers, not kidnapped civilians (from all over the world), are held without torture, until the warring parties have resolved the matters of the POWs.

And as for civilians kidnapped in the conflict zone resisting an invasion. Im from Sweden. Every year in the Yellow Pages there are details of how to resist and obstruct for any invading army, a duty of any citizen. What happened? Did Jay Dubya Bush forget the to kidnap the Swedes? Watch out.. next time you talk to a pretty blond she might actually be the most dangerous person in the world.

Well..your profile says you're from NY but I have to assume by your English that you were born outside of the US and moved there later.. Aside from the journal making almost no sense (which if you were born outside the US then I apologize) the argument has no sound foundation! To try and justify rendition of innocent civilians is beyond comprehension. But if you truly do believe that it is justified then I can only hope that it happens to you or some member of your family.

I NEVER agree with GM..... it makes me taste puke to agree with him now, but then again, any man with a semi sane mind would see you're f**ked in the head.

These were not truly civilians they were in fact combatants of groups attacking soldiers on combat grounds. Standards applied to formal military soldier treatment and policy do not apply to these people and that has been where the quagmire has involved so many legal from those who just want try and cuddle extremeists. Last time I checked we don't keep criminals if their host country has legitimate evidence of criminal actions. To do so is tantamount to harboring fugitives. THe Bush administration tried numerous times to start military tribunals which the Nazi's and Jap faced after WWII but were blocked at every turn but people who thought they new better.

Now these people who are known criminals even by their own countries which is why they will not take back are spending tax payer money to be placed in heavenly island resorts. The governments are being payed to take them in, homes being bought for them, and who knows what else they are giving them on the tax payer dime.

man you talk more **** than anyone I have seen on this site. And your standard of written English is way below any sort of decent standard. Your understanding of International Law or the geopolitical climate is laughable, and your concept of human rights is on a par with Stalin.

Please follow these instructions;

a) find rock

B) lift rock

c) crawl under it.

funny you say internationally law and when military tribunals ( as stated earlier) were being brought forth whiney people in the US complained they were due civilian courts. Even though they had taken up arms against military personal and their own countries people in EVERY case. Extremeist attack in their countries just as much and more then any where else.

Egypt... muslim brother hood has bombed numerous times

Saudi Arabia... where ironically the most extreme form of islam is from is a target of attacks

pakistan... watch the news

Iran... over threw their own government now suppressing their people

chechniya... extremeist went so far as to take over a damn school!

yemen... the list goes on and on

Yemen won't take their own people back so how about we take them to where you live? Give them a hug and maybe you can convince extremeism is wrong and you can forgive them for attacking British, French, Spanish, American troops.
