A few days back here in Honolulu there was an incident where a 23 year old man kidnapped and threw a 2 year old baby off of one of the freeway overpasses, instantly killing him. I don't think there are words that describe the sickening feeling that came over everyone I knew when they heard about this, I mean, I was having a few drinks with some friends and when this popped up on the news, the whole bar became silent !!! In the days that followed, certain details started to emerge about how th
Well my "ex" is finally moving out. For some time now I have allowed her to stay in my home until she has found something decent to move into. I guess I really didn't have to do this, but since I had the room in my home and there was her young daughter to also think about, I really didn't have it in me to just send them off without a roof over their heads. I don't quite know exactly what it is, perhaps seeing her move all her things out or maybe just the realization that it's "finally" ove
Seems just a few days ago I read a journal about a young female who was involved in an abusive relationship. This type of stiuation is such a sad thing and is far to common all around the world. Here is an article from the "Honolulu Advertiser" about a bad case of domestic violence. In this case, it involved a man (Roy Hartsock) who was just recently released from prison and was an individual I remember very well when he was locked up in the jail I work at. Amazing that this was the same man
You know, sometimes owning a place can be a hassle. Like the yesterday, when I discovered why I kept getting water around the base of my toilet. Seems the wax seal had finally gone out......sounds simple enough, right?...........NO. Seems the type of toilet I have is one mounts to the wall and not the floor, so extra care must be taken when removing and replacing it ( if you accidentally crack this thing, it will set you back $500 US to replace....OUCH!!!! ). Lucky for me I had made some p
Well I've been kicking back and trying to relax at home over the last two days, wish I could have said my new years eve and new years day were fantastic, but in fact the were not all that great......in fact they were both uneventful and boring. While sitting in my living room and kind of feeling miserable and sorry for myself, I thought back on Christmas and even while that too was not all that great, I thought of the gift that my daughter had given me.....a watch. Not an expensive watch by an

Came across this, and while joking about it , he's actually pretty much right about how the terms in the english language have changed (George Carlin)...lol
Aside from wishing everyone good health and happiness throughout the holiday season, I wouldn't mind if "santa" brought one of these and put it under my tree......( although with a MSRP of $10,585.00 USD I think it's a little unlikely ...lol) but it's always nice to dream. Merry Christmas to all........
I was pleasantly surprised yesterday by a co-worker of mine who overheard me talking about my wanting to learn more of the Thai language, when he presented me with a language CD by "Rosetta Stone". When I took this program home I was even more surprised as it not only included the Thai program, but also about 15 other languages as well....apparently not a cheap program, I think these things go for about $220 USD if you had to purchase them. Since it is the Christmas season and my friend gave
Well the weather here in Honolulu really sucks today (nothing but rain..rain..rain!!!), but I'm not going to let it put a damper on my plans tonight to go see "My Chemical Romance". Should be a great concert
Two Sweethearts
There were two high school sweethearts who went out together for four years in high school and were both virgins and enjoyed losing their virginity with each other in 10th grade. When they graduated, they wanted to both go to the same college but the girl was accepted to a college on the east coast, and the guy went to the west coast. They agreed to be faithful to each other and spend anytime they could together. As time went on, the guy would call the girl but she was never h
For a while now, I've been dealing with an issue here at the jail that has been bothering me. Seems that a person that I've known for the last 15 years has recently been doing some things that are......well, lets just say inappropriate. While not illegal (at this point!!!), what he may be doing is facilitating illegal activities by allowig persons with criminal histories to enter into the jail on visit days to visit thier friends or relatives in return for some type of gratuity. I know this t
You know when I was growing up, I distinctly remember my mom telling me to never poke anything with a stick......I guess that applies to animals as well
Also, use caution when messing around with dangerous game!!!
Going back through some of my music files today and I can't believe I hadn't listened to these guys for quite some time.... anyway, here's a couple of clips....hope you enjoy.
You know with all the bad things that happen in this world today, it's good to hear about people who do good things for others. Here's a story that came out of the United States from Arizona..... PHOENIX - A 9-year-old boy looking for help after his mother crashed their van in the southern Arizona desert was rescued by a man entering the U.S. illegally, who stayed with him until help arrived the next day, an official said. The 45-year-old woman, who eventually died while awaiting help, had bee
I've always loved music (especially rock and blues) so I figured I'd share something from one of my favorite guitarist. I'm glad I was able to see him in concert before his death. He truly was one of the greatest guitarist out there........ Stevie Ray Vaughan
This seems to be all over the news, but WTF???? the victim in this case is punished. For me, this is just morally and humanly wrong!!! let's hear some of your opinions?Only in Saudi Arabia: gang rape victim punished 19-year-old woman gets 200 lashes, six months in jail for being in car of unrelated male at time of rape. RIYADH - A court in the ultra-conservative kingdom of Saudi Arabia is punishing a female victim of gang rape with 200 lashes and six months in jail, a newspaper reported on Thu
