Well I got great news from the motorcycle dealer today....Seems that the manufacturer (Yamaha) is going to fix my bike for free even though the warranty had just expired. Seems that they agreed that the problem was not a normal "wear and tear" kind of issue. It appears that the nut holding the front pulley for the belt drive "backed off" a bit and caused the pulley to become damaged. I'm so upset....Recently while riding my motorcycle I began to hear a strang sound that started happening around the gearbox. Being concerned about this I brought it to the Yamaha dealer in Honolulu to get it checked. The mechanic I know here is pretty good and after he took it for a test ride he confirmed this noise. Today I took the day off. This is something I have done for the last 4 years every March 14 and it is to spend with a very good friend of mine whos birthday just happens to be on this day (happy birthday Mike!!!) What makes this day a little unusual is that typically birthdays are a day of celebration and joy, but on this day 4 years ago my buddy Mike's sister died of an apparent drug overdose which shattered many lives.
