Too sensitive, or too much ego?
My previous journal provoked the following response from a certain TF member:
"Wanna tell if u will join our party this fri, XX, XXXXXX, XXXXXXXXXX, & XXXXXXXXX wouldnt go & we will change d place & just make a new plan for ONLY our friends...
Thx for reading.
XXXXXXXXX"
This is after having been invited to said party by another TF member not involved with the above email. Not wanting to cause any problems, I will humbly bow out and not attend this party.
...
However (and I am sure the more astute of you saw this coming), I would like to add the following rant.
This is not the first time that TF members have misinterpreted TF journals and thought that they were written about them personally. This misinterpretation has resulted in unnesseccary friction. I would like to assume that neither ego nor being overly sensitive play a part in these misinterpretations. TF is after all generally in English which is not the first language of many members therefore greatly increasing the chances of misunderstandings (and in all fairness I am shite at speaking Thai and can't read it to save myself).
The above email I received however, while within the rights of the member to send, is just childish. It makes no attempt to to discover if their has been a misunderstanding, or resolve any problem. It is the sort of thing I would expect to hear from 6 year old children, and not from a woman in her late 20's who should have some measure of emotional maturity.
I do not expect this journal to change or enlighten the opinion(s) of the writer; in fact I expect it to do the opposite. Some people are just not able to press the rewind button and examine the reasons for their reactions and the possibility that they were wrong (if I am wrong about this, great!). I am writng this journal our of disappointment at the reaction of one or two individuals to mt previous journal, and at having to have my first negative experience on TF after so many months.
Peace be with you all.
