Latest news on Copenhagen (last edition)
U should know all by now that I went to Copenhagen for the third anniversary of TF (version Europe). I took the chance, being there, to visit Copenhagen, capital of Denmark.A 'lot' of ppl, who attended to the party there, already told enough about how drink and nasty 'they' were . Anyway again thanks to Poul for organizing and picking us, Ghee and me, at the airport. Thanks to Nicky for driving 3 hours only to see us. I never thought I was worth driving that long . (Oooooppps, maybe u did come for the other fellows ) The day after the party I went to a small hoste to stay three days more in Copenhagen and to have a glimpse of the city. Overall I had a great feeling. Danish people were all friendly and helpfull showing me the way. The public transport is great (and cheap if u buy a ticket for several days). The city has big lanes and never seems to be too busy with traffic. Everything is quite expensive compared on European standards (but okay it's a big city and I always could find a cheaper pub or restaurants in the backstreets). The only that disturbs me (little bit ) was like the city has no soul. I can't explain it, although all people were friendly, that I missed something. The city has some nice squares and lanes, but no Medieval sttreet or buildings.
I couldn't leave it. Poul, a pro in action. Some rural view in Denmark the station of Copenhagen (didn't I see something wellknown?? Look at Poul's pic in an earlier journal.) Some Copenhagers (????) walking into the cold evening sun the city hall Some city views and nice architecture
Doing a boat tour on the canals of Copenhagen is great (even the price is reasonable ) The OperaI've seen the little mermaid. But only the back (but it's a nice one ) Some other views from on the water and back at the start Being in Copenhagen was great and I had a fine weekend there. And Nicky, next time u come with me to the center of Copenhagen to help me find the Thai ladyboys . Thanks to Poul, Nicky and Ghee for being nice company and for Poul to be a great host. I was so happy he doesn't drink that much and saved some great wine for us . Next year we try to arrange a TF-anniversary in Belgium (Brussels, Leuven, Antwerp). For those who haven't enough of my pics, there's more on here. There's more on my MSN space. I can send the URL for those who want to see it.Cheers, Eric
