Hi Can anyone tell why the Baht is so strong at the moment, I know the US dollar is a little on the weak side, but given there is politcal instability in Thailand (military govt) I thought the baht would be weaker, (I am no expert) just wondering, any opinions please!!!

I thought the baht would be weaker myself. Kinda surprised it's getting stronger and stronger.

It's not getting much stronger against the $NZ, 3 years ago I oculd buy a dollar for 18 Baht, now I need over 24. It's been like that for over 2 1/2 years :-/

When I was in Thailand last month it ranged between 27.68TBH and 30.00TBH per A$1.00 :-)

And using your other official currency Gav, the Koala Dropping, what was the fluctuation like there?

Hmmmmmmmmm when I was in Bangkok in Dec/Jan, it was like 35.50 BAHT to the $1 USD?

Exactly JC_HKT.. So the BoT is doing nothing, baht still too strong.. Mai pen rai.. Great with an export dependent Thai economy!! ;-) Export is 60% of Thailands GDP.. When is somebody waking up in this country?

Dollar has gone down regarding other currency as well (like mine Norwegian Krone NOK) and conserning NOK and Bath it remains more or less the same. I might be that the problem is USD in some parts anyhow.

Is it still about 70 baht to the British Pound?
