Saw my first dead Thai guy last night, I suppose it was just a matter of time. Rama IV road 2330 last night. His head looked out of shape! Obviously came off his bike and lost his fight with physics and the road. It was quite horrifying and what I found odd was the Police motorcyclist didn’t attempt to preserve the guys dignity covering the corpse with a sheet or something.

Next was a Toyoto VIOS looking like a bananna after coming off worse with a Fortuna (intersection Nawamin and Rama IV). The Fortuna hitting the VIOS side on, I hope everyone was OK.

There’s a saying in England that everything comes in 3’s, I hope for my sake I’ll be OK.

well, there is a dense population so maybe the chances of seeing someone dead are greater.. i've seen people killed in road accidents in canada too, and i never saw anyone cover them up.. it's only when the paramedics arrive and wisk them away that they are out of sight.. why not let everyone get a good look and let it sink in real well what happens when human flesh, steal and concrete collide with very much speed at all? hopefully it makes people more careful and pushes them to think ahead more. i get what you mean about dignity.. but there really is little dignity in death.. when your dead your dead..

And alcohol....

If 1.) you are under 25 years of age; 2.) ride a motorbike; and 3.) drink alcohol, the chances of you making 30 are pretty slim (and even less in Issarn).

The number of Thai friends I have had over the last 10 years who have had members of their own families either killed or seriously injured (sometimes including themselves) beggars belief.

The cost (even excluding the huge emotional cost) to the country at large, has been put at a staggering 4% of GDP!

Completely at a loss for words....

I walked past a motorbike taxi stand last night and was amazed to see 5 of them drinking whisky whilst waiting for next customer.

Whisky and the fact they wear ice cream tubs as helmets is as good as suicide.
