spring rolls!

I have to admit every time I go out to eat that I love to order spring rolls.  There is a thai restaurant in my home town called Esans. Every time I go there I order the shrimp fresh spring rolls.  Today when I was watching tv there was a chef that showed how to make them.  It was a lot easier than I thought and I was thinking about maybe making a big batch this weekend.  The chef on tv used the spring roll wraps, spinach, carrrot strips and samon.  However I wanted to use shrimp instead of samon.  Also most of the spring rolls that I eat have a cabbage type filling instead of spinach.  I was just curious if anyone knows how to make them - if they do could you please tell me what you put inside your rolls.  I like to cook and I figure I will try to make a batch this weekend! Have a great weekend everyone.

Hey thanks for taking the time to give some feedback. Whats great about the fresh rolls is you can get them unfryed. They are a lot healthier than the egg rolls that are fried. The thai restaurant in my home town serves them with a peanut sauce. They are so delicious!

u can create what u want to put inside in spring roll. pork or shrimp. but for my grandmom recipe she put omlette (that u must chop it in little pieces) bean sprouts, pork, crab and mushroom that i don't know how to call in english. u must fried all the ingredient put some soy sauce or oyster sauce and pepper. after that u put in the roll. and as i say u can change yur ingredient just put something u like to eat. u can put cabbage , shrimp or carrot. in thai style we eat with sweet and sour syrup with little bit red chillie and put the chop carrot or radsish.it's delicious too. enjoy yur meal.

A Vietnamese girl I once knew had her legs so locked together I couldn't get a whiff of her 'SPRING ROLL'l. Two drinks and half a quaalude later, I was at an all you can eat buffet. Every lock can be broken. It's just a matter of will and whether it's worth it.

Does this help anybody with anything?

yeah right you can put anything in, to your taste. if you like the standard spring roll like we know it in the western world with cabbage (if you like it soft blanch it before) and carrots cut it to a julienne season with salt pepper and lemon juice just a little and then you wrap it and fry it in peanut oil its taste much better as dip is a soy sauce or the Chinese chillisauce

i always love the simple prawn/shrimp and glass noodle (flovoured/ stir-fried with bean sprout). A tiny bit of cabbage/carrot helps, but too much makes it stink. Sometimes they put just one prawn (and nothing else) ih wrap and that tastes really good already.
