The Punisher

"The farang beggar who for a few years now has been trying to scrape

together 5000 to help him "go home" ran in to a bit of bother near

Soi 13 in Sukhumvit Rd yesterday. A friend of mine saw a guy with an

American accent confront the beggar and in a loud voice accused him

of having been doing this for a long time and of being a #&%*@ parasite

etc etc,  he then grabbed the sign and tore it into pieces.

Live and let live they say, but IMO a farang begging in the streets

of Bangkok, obviously doing it for a living, just doesn't seem right to

me." (posted by Sandy in alt.coc.culture.thai)I think he should count himself lucky that he wasn't smacked in the head (that he hasn't been yet only means OutOfOrder hasn't run into him again lately ;-p)Oh, and has anyone seen the Mormon evagelist who preaches loudly in the tourist areas recently? Last time I saw him he was being heckled by some Israelis in Khao San Road. His 2 body guards seem to be the only reason he wasn't taken down.Fruitcakes like this stand out like a sore thumb in Thailand; and whether we like it or not they do no favours for the rest of us foreigners here. The one farang begger will be remember long after the faces of the 1000's of Thai beggers have been forgotten.

Too often the foreigners are the wrong kinf in my opinion Maximm. There are plenty of good ones though, if you take the time to find them. I've got a few top shelf friends here.

Actually, I don't think those Mornon's are farang. I suspect them of being aliens from another planet because their actions are way out there.

A reall really BIG smack then Vacanti?
