last two month, i sent my passport, money and all document to NY...

they said that i ahve to repaid coz it paid it wrong, so i did immediately.

when they recieve my money order...they didnt do anything but sitting on it...one month had gone by while everyone here was rushing, trying darn hard to get me to scotland....nothing happened.

so the embassy said that they've sent my passport back coz they couldnt find it anywhere...

so i told them to send my money order back as well..

i got my money orderback last week...but still..there was no sign or my passport. so i believed that it's been sittying at someone's desk in buffalo...STUPID CLERK!

we were about to report this stupidity to the minister (i doubt if that will make any better)

today, while shopping with my niece at a mall, my phone rang...so..someone from school phoned me to inform me that he's got a ontact from teh canadian consulate in buffalo NY saying that they've found my passport.

woooo!!!...i was about to go to the police station to decalre lost of my passport. however, recieving this news didn't bring me any pleasure. it rather upset me massively. so ii made an appointment with the person at the other end, as we still have to send the money order to NY by FedEX...and lebel it so they can send it back teh same way.

thinking back....we've been asking them to send everything abck ASAP and we willing to pay for every kind of express shipping...they said they don't care..they'll only send stuff of by regular mail..they don't ******* care...

now what! i wasn't trying to get your bloody visa just for teh sake of travelling..i am in fact doing your country a favour!..whatever research i've been doing or will do in teh future will be your country's properties. and not to mention that this sooper unfamous university that i am attending can make its name to 3 most famous conferences but you didn't ******* give me any anticipation.

i'm not going to just let it go, coz it's unacceptable. if there's any good reason that they can giive to me, maybe i will...but just ebcoz they work in the embassy and fool themselves that they are god and sit on other's problem with a messy-unorganize system...then they's better off doing something that doesn't relate to someone else's future.

you bloody wasted my hard workis!!!

i am not going to stop...i'll have to do something to acknowledge them about how stupid they are.

if you can't do your best, then go find something else that you can do it better...don't stick with it and act like you are on top of everyone!

Thumbs way up to that n'Jane! ******* stupid bureaucrats who don't give a rat's ass about public service. You meet them in many different walks of life. And then the ones that work in the Canadian bureaucracy whine when they are downsized because there's too much deadwood sitting around, sitting on your damn passport. You really really ought to take this to some kind of media, because here is a clear case of bureaucratic incompetence and outright indifference to public service, not just wasting your time but affecting your academic career.

here is what i found in my daily basis. as i am an asian gal works as a freelance designer and a research assistant....i have to deal with many people who work at the university here.

they've been given me an impression that they want to be important. without concerning about getting to actually work done, they play games...to make themselves look important...

and many times they don't admit that they are incapable in doing design works.

why would i care, i get paid less that i should anyway, so if they think they can do better...then go ahead!

there are reasons in bringing designers in to the jobs...

actually, i don't even accept myself or regard myself as a designer, my buddy is from royal st. martin UK...he doesnt consider himself as a designer as well...coz we havent met our own standard.

but those people...desperately to become 'somebody'...they love to hold they work tight and do it by themselves and turn out..everything looks ugly!

but..that's how it make them feel superior...

same as those embassy officer...the work is simple (as my document has anything unclear), but they want to make their work more complicated...to make themselves important.

if i falled in to a suspicious catagories, it's understandable but it's not...it's basically a simple clerk works!

Yeah there is a kind of petty bureaucrat who is in a position of minor importance. So when he (or she) gets to use his power, he flaunts it. He makes life difficult because it makes him seem important. He's exercising his tiny corner of power, playing games with the lives of people. It doesn't affect his life in the least if Form 123-45 from John Smith goes missing or has to be refiled because of some little misunderstanding of procedures etc., but John Smith's life might be affected very badly having to wait for his Form 123-45 to be approved.

And yes you definitely find the same kinds of players in universities. Well, you most certainly find them in private business also! And many many of them never get fired either, because the one real talent they have is to play whatever game it takes to stay where they are and advance.

You wonder what kind of upbringing some of these people had. Did they feel powerless with somewhat arbitrary and sometimes nasty, petty parents? And so they're acting the same out on the people they're supposed to be serving? Making petty and arbitrary use of whatever little power they have.

it's pathetic...

people should be more sincere to their work rather than trying to compensate the feeling of powerless by acting like they are so important...coz that makes me look at them with my empty eyes...

so pityful...

Go for it, you should stand for what is right and do sth about it. Those deadwood should learn the lesson even tho they wont change...

You see it everywhere .. Dont get too annoyed or you will turn your brain inside out...

last time i went to Brit embassy in BKK...i arrived at 7.00 or later than that but everything was just fine...teh line wasn't that bad at all..ithat was last august...maybe it's changed a lot.
