I just heard the story of a guy, coming from the far East, who was halted by the customers at A'dam airport and had to pull out his T-shirt because it was a fake one. I heard this law, which is already executed by a few European countries, will be the rule in all of Europe. I know a lot of tourist go to Thailand and buy this kind of fake stuff there (watches, clothes etc.). It has never been my thing. So, be careful when you buy things cheap there from famous and normally expensive brands, there is a chance you have to give them to the customer when re entering Europe and sometimes even have to pay a considerable high fine.

I have some great fake A&F polo shirts that I brought home as well as loads of fake football shirts, jeans etc. It would be hard to tell but in Ireland they never check anyway and I don't imagine it will change.

That law's been around for decades but rarely strictly enforced.A fake t shirt or 3 ,a dodgy watch,a few copied cds ....dont really interest customs. That guy was a bit unlucky.
