basically you're saying that if you don't piss off EVERY muslim by supporting some smug dipshit's right to specifically and maliciously defile symbols of islam, in ways that are as profane and offensive as possible to muslims (look up what dogs mean to muslims if you haven't already), then you're bowing before extremists?

andres serrano's "piss christ," when showing in new york, resulted in a few death threats but definitely there are too many muslims willing to kill for symbolism. however, dipshits like the artists in question are only giving extremists propaganda weapons; making it easy for extremists to claim westerners are corrupt and amoral.

Interesting journal.....brought on a few interesting comments ( I'm sure there will be more ). As an artist I'm pretty sure that Mr.Vilks did this just to provoke such a reaction. It's no great surprise that Mr. Vilks has received death threats from some of those extreemist nut cases.

I agree that people should stop "bowing" before these extreemist, they need to wake up and learn to be tolerant of others as well an understand that there are many thant don't share thier values. Is it right to draw a picture of a dog and name him Mohammed? perhaps not, but thats why we should have freedom of speach.

Republicans are bunch of hypocrites. When the U.S. bring war into the region for oil interest, they call themselves a liberator bringing freedom and democracy into the region. But when they attack us outside military mean, you call them "terrorists" or "extremists". They claim they support freedom of religion, but they can offend other religion through what they call arts or freedom of speech... and they are against teaching of evolution in schools. They consider themselves pro-lifers but they support death penalty.
