Whilst chatting to a couple of Thai people in Samui last year, they laughed because I only had two chillies in my Som Tum. The girl said she had four, and when I asked the guy "How many?"He held up both hands to indicate ten, with a big grin on his face.Do you think that he was kidding me? I have heard that people from Isaan like their food really spicy. So how many do you have in your's?

Ok ok!! Maybe not 10... Actually I never counted how many chillies there was in the pok-pok before I'm being served at the restaurant... But I do eat very spicy! ;)

Ok, I'll come with some French wine and I'll bring along my gf ... she has to come from Thailand though... Maybe we should have a dinner all together at bkk, that would be easier!!

Dont like Som Tam but I eat Indian curries by the bucket load and hot at that...Jalfrezi usually has in excess of 15 big chillies and a Phal is cooked with mustard oil and naga so quite hot although varies from place to place. I usually have a chilli fried rice too...its no trickery you just get used to it over time.

Prik kee noo in Thailand are lovely and are a great ingredient for any chilli lovers. If you like hot and spicy food try buying some super hot chilli sauce like Mad Dog 357 or Da Bomb (3 versions) and let me know how you get on. I collect hot sauces and I can tell you these puppies blow your head off..even a small bit on the end of a tooth pick will be enough for most people.

Beast.

I looked up Mad Dog 357 sauce on Google. 600,000 Scoville units. ( Thats the unit used to measure the heat of chillis).

I am not a masochist :-))

It even comes with a bullet tied to the bottle. Presumably for if the chilli doesn't blow your head off.
