Today marks the 24th anniversary of my employment with the same company. When I first got this job I didn't know what I was doing. 24 years later, I still don't know what I am doing. Just kidding :)
I like to say that without my job I wouldn't know where I would be, because what ever I have now is because of my job. Never would imagine that I would last this long with the same company. Been fired like so many times and because of my union I was able to get my job back.
Well, you all think by now that I am a total F**K up because all I mentioned is how my job was good for me, but what about how I was good for the company. I have scarified my legs, arms, back, mind and soul for my company. Back 24 years ago the people that ran the company cared. Now I don't think they give a Sh*t about us hard working employees any more. Especially the ones with so many years with the company. I would like everyone to know that one time or another I had a decision to make that affects at least one person here in TF that is related to my job. That is the kind of power I had at one time. Then there was the time 2 years ago where I was a MILLION dollar seller for the year and then there was a time when I would do all that I can so that the customer was satisfied.
All in all with the wining and bitching. I still love my job very much and hopefully soon I can say good bye to my job :)
Sincerely,
King

Hope you at least get a gold watch or something when you go.

My late uncle worked for Rolls Royce factory in the UK for 36 years. When he left, he never even got a gift or even a drive in one of the cars.

Business is business.

In my job, we say, "it doesnt matter how much you love your job, dont ever expect it to love you back"

Good luck.

Marc, they used to give the people with 25 years a gold watch....USED TOO is the key work.

So very true about the job not loving you back. I didn't go much into details but I like others to know especially the young people here on TF about working for a company.

They don't love you but you have to love yourself in what your doing and I love what I am doing for the last 24 years. That is how I survived 24 years so far :)
