Pink Floyd keyboard player Richard Wright has died at the age of 65 after battling cancer, his spokesman has said. The group released their first record in 1967 with Wright appearing alongside lead guitarist Syd Barrett, Roger Waters and Nick Mason.A great keyboard player and often the forgotten member of the Floyd. Another rocker heads off to the final soundcheck. Here is 'Time' live from Earls Court 73 with Wright on lead vocals

One of my favourites bands of all time, although some found them too theatral. I followed them from the beginning with albums like Atom Earth Mother, Ummagumma (maybe wrong spelling) and others till Dark side of the Moon, The Wall and Wish you were here. Then they stopped making good music, IMO. I've seen them a few times in concert.

BTW I think David Gilmour, replacing Syd Barett after this one got completely nuts, is doing the lead vocals with Wright doing the second vocals.

Wow, I'm shocked. I was a total fan and own both of his solo albums. Anybody who likes Pink Floyd should check out the first of these "Wet Dream" very reminiscent of the Dark Side of the Moon era. Fantastic work from Floyd's secret weapon. Now, I really hope they don't try to regroup.

indeed sad news, as Floyd has always been on of my fav bands since I started listening to serious music back in 74. Guess the remaining three are too saturated to regroup Floyd again, and Waters is still some kind of persona non grata to Mason and Gilmour.
