I've been trained to be helper with American Teacher before I got to teach.... So I know what to do..... My students are 5-12 years old so it's not very hard to teach. I'm not good at giving advices. so, Good Luck ka :)

Congrats ja.....grade 7 students aren't hard to teach or control ja....just be yourself....you may feel nervous on the first day and the first class you will have, but after that everything will be fine ja. I like to teach grade 7 students because they are young and new for high school, so they behave good, enthusiastic, and more...it's easy to teach grade 7....try to bring songs to class, they like to sing and act. Enjoy your class..^_^

good luck to your students... from what I'm seeing in your post, there's way too many grammatical errors and that's what you'll be teaching the kids - "part of your country's future".

Kind of goes along parallel with the "farang teachers" this country hires to "teach English"... "Well, they SEEM to be able to piece together a sentence in English... What the hell... Why not hire them? I mean, who cares if the person has no teaching qualifications and no teaching experience?" Of course, if you pay in bananas, you get monkeys...

I'm an English teacher too.I really have the passion for teaching. A month before my graduation, I was hired to teach at a Catholic school. I was too excited coz I'd be able to apply what I've learned.

I assumed that the years u've spent at ur university have really prepared you well as a teacher. If you're not ready yet, then u have to ask yourself why?

You have to visit the school where u're assigned to teach. That school will assign u the level u will be teaching, give u the teaching materials and assist u in everything u will be needing. Don't hesitate to ask questions to ur coordinator or department head.

Anyways, just curious, do u really have a degree in Education? Coz u seem very confused about what u will do. ^_^

I just re-read your journal...

"Not my dream job but better than nothing to do (i still don't have full times job anyway)"

Do the students and yourself a favor... Find some other job. You don't sound like you have any education qualifications... You don't have any experience in teaching... You don't seem to have much in the way of enthusiasm for this job (if I'm reading your journal correctly) other than "teaching is better than doing nothing"... If you were to take BabyOiy's comment about kids "being the future of the country" seriously, think about it for a minute. If you were a parent of a child and found out that the teacher they'd be getting to prepare them for future studies at university had the same attitude as what you've just written in your journal, would YOU want that person being the teacher for YOUR kid? I SERIOUSLY doubt it...

MisterMatlock - Yeah i dont have any experience in teaching english. cos my major was Information Systems.

But after i talked to my English teacher at university , He really support me. <<< i don't even know why. He said i can do it not too hard. Like "Sneaky" and "Jig" said.... bring the song, games... and what ever did you study before go to class. More than teaching only from the book.

From what I normally see.... english teachers must:

1. Drink cheap beer.... and drink a lot.

2. Spend your weekend around soi nana or cowboy.

3. Never speak or spell right.

If you can follow 2 out of the 3 rules, you should be okay...
