I liked the one of 2008 much more, not only the design but also the presentation, really original.

the outfit of 2008 had more thai caracteristics then the one of 2009, this one looks more indian or something liek that

2008 costume was fun, cheeky, assertive of women's rights, sexy, and very Thai in an unexpected way.

2009 costume celebrates exploitation of women, isn't sexy, and looks like it was made from a rug from JJ market.

I guess the use of the Buddha "flame of enlightenment" element could be sacreligious too.

Also the neck thing is a bit over the top I get the concept but it's a bit too futuristic rather than traditional the 2008 costume is a lot more subtle.
