Last week I had lose my wallet, so few days ago I have to go to government station call Aumpher to do my new ID card.

I have appt. with my landlord which she promise me to help me to sign grantee me ( It rule on Thailand) at 9 am. Every think sem fine the staff at Aumpher gave us the form to fill the information. After I fill the form she told me to wait until they call me to go take a picture.

The staff start interview me with my document I gave to them ( My passport and My Certificate ) till the past to scan my finger print that start problem, she keep scan my thumb like 5 minutes and she inform me my finger print not pass, so the told me to go back to Surattani to to it. I told her I have my passport and my certificate should be enough to proved myself cos all are my picture on, she make face upset and tell me " Sorry, we can't do for you. You have to go back to Suratthani to do it" I ask her how can I go there? I lose my wallet and not have no money I need my ID Card to go make the ATM. and she keep say the same word.

I can't imagine how she say that, from bkk to suratthani for traveling go and back cost a fortune why she so stupid!!!!, Well, after that I have beel call to the hotline 1548 to complain about this happen and some one who high up phone them to force her to do it for me.

She look at me like very angry and start scan my thumb again but this time she put the cream on before scan and my finger print very clear only scann one time and pass !!!!!

I don't under stand why she not try to put cream on the first time since its not match!! After I got my card that almost 2 pm!!!! I'm so appreciate of my landlord that she so nice to me to wait me find out this problem.

However, If I not call to complain or if people who don't know about hotline government Will we get the ID card?

With so many redshirts that had to get a new ID card, she might not like redshirts, and thinks you are one because you need new ID card. There were quite a few redshirts that had to get new a ID card after the demonstrations. I imagine some still have not gotten their new card yet.

Mai pen rai ja - government employees are famous all over the world, no matter which country - there are good and bad, and sometimes you get lucky, and other times you meet someone like this person, obviously too dopey or lazy to do the job properly the first time. Actually I am very proud of the fact that you can call a hot line to complain, and it was fixed immediately! THAT is the good part of this story...in many overseas government offices, there is no way to complain and actually get anything done! You did very well to persist... !
