Hehe, I got her wrong at my third number!

She is always right..

The answer is always divisible by 9

Therefore whatever gift is on 9,18,27, etc is the answer

And of course it changes each time, so it looks like she is reading your mind.

Choose the same number twice in a row, and it will be a different gift.

I think I found out how it works. There is only one option. Each 10 base number (10, 20, 30, etc) you chose always gives you the same result after the subtraction. XY - X - Y = X * 9

For example:

11 - 1 - 1 = 9 | 16 - 1 - 6 = 9 | 19 - 1 - 9 = 9

24 - 2 - 4 = 18 | 27 - 2 - 7 = 18 |

And so on...

Then they just write the same gift in the boxes 9, 18, 27, 36... etc. Btw, spoiler alert. Dont read this post if you wanna enjoy this post a little more.
