This is the first time I have instigated a Journal entry, but wanted to share a recent experience and as TF is a Thai site, it seams as good a place as any.

I was coming to Thailand last week for a short break and arranged to meet a girl that I had chatted to a couple of times for dinner.

We got on so well that I have just spent a fantastic week with a beautiful, intelligent and witty girl when we eat great food, drank good wine, partied like there was no tomorrow and made love during all the daylight hours. There really was nothing to fault it, we both laughed too much, drank too much, had too much sex and became very close.

After being back at work for a day, I called her to tell what a great time I had, how I was looking forward to seeing her soon and generally being romantic, as I thought this may be the start of something bigger.

All she said was yeah - she had a great time too but not interested in seeing me again because I am not prepared to commit myself to marrying her. Her reasoning was that why should she waste her time with me just hoping that one day I might propose, when her time could be better spent looking for a man who is willing to marry her straight away.

Some girls really do have a one-track mind ? the quickest route to marriage.

I guess you have discovered the 2 sides of Thailand now.

That's all true about the older ones maybe, but it seems to me the younger Thai girl's don't even know how to spell marriage. They just want to shag as many guys as they can and worry about a life partner when they are much older.... They think they can always find a great guy later (as if great, rich, sexy, guys don't mind a woman that has slept around for over 10 years....

Opps, did I just say all that....
